FAMUZI / FAQ

The short version.

A few useful answers about the private gallery, guest contributions, and the way a FAMUZI event comes together.

01

Why use FAMUZI instead of a shared photo album?

A shared album mixes your event in with everyone's whole camera roll, needs guests to sign into an account, and never really closes. FAMUZI is built for one event: guests upload with just a link or QR code — no app, no account — everything lands in one gallery you control, and you decide who can view, download, or contribute, for how long. When the event's over, it's a finished keepsake, not an open folder someone forgets about.

02

CAN I DELETE/REMOVE GUEST UPLOADS?

You can hide — and unhide — any guest photo or video at any time. It happens instantly, it is fully reversible, and the guest is never notified. Event owners can also permanently delete media from their gallery; this cannot be undone. For an ordinary “I don’t want this in my gallery” removal, simply hide it.

03

CAN I DOWNLOAD EVERYTHING?

Yes. You can download your entire gallery as a single ZIP file whenever you like. FAMUZI does not reduce the quality or compress your photos and videos — whatever your guests uploaded is exactly what downloads.

04

HOW LONG CAN GUESTS ADD PHOTOS?

Guests can keep uploading for 7 days after your event ends — or for 7 days after the last day of a multi-day or weekend event. After that, the gallery closes to new uploads but stays fully viewable and downloadable for a further 12 months. Altogether, that is roughly a year and a week from your event’s last day before the gallery fully expires.

05

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY FILES AFTER RETENTION ENDS?

Uploads close 7 days after your event ends, or 7 days after the last day of a multi-day event. Your gallery then remains fully viewable and downloadable for another 12 months. After those 12 months, the gallery expires.

06

DOES FAMUZI COMPRESS PHOTOS OR VIDEOS?

No. Photos can be up to 25MB each and may be JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, or HEIF files. Videos can be up to 250MB each and may be MP4 or MOV files. FAMUZI does not compress or reduce the quality of anything your guests upload — the original file is what gets stored and downloaded.

07

What if my guest forgets to scan the QR code?

No problem — your guest link isn't tied to the QR code. You can share that same link anywhere you like: post it to your wedding website (The Knot, Zola, etc.), text it to family who couldn't make it, or drop it in a thank-you note. Anyone with the link uploads the same way as scanning the code in person. Guests can keep adding photos for 7 days after your event ends (7 days after your last day, for a multi-day celebration), and the full gallery stays viewable and downloadable for 12 months after that. If someone visits the gallery but isn't ready to upload yet, they can leave their email there and we'll send the link to their inbox, plus one reminder before the upload window closes.

08

Will FAMUZI email my guests?

Only if a guest chooses to. Uploading never requires an email address. If a guest wants their link saved for later, they can enter their email and we'll send it to them plus, at most, one gentle reminder while uploads are still open — never marketing, never anything about other events.

09

What if a guest forgets to upload?

You've got two ways to cover that: guests who saved their email get one automatic reminder from us, and you can send your own nudge anytime with the ready-made guest message in your dashboard — just copy and send it wherever you're already talking to your guests.

10

How long is a saved guest email kept, and what should guests outside the US expect?

A saved guest email and its reminder record currently stay with the event's lifecycle record. FAMUZI does not yet enforce a guaranteed automatic deletion deadline for these records, and final backup-deletion timing is not settled. For a guest outside the US, the basis for sending is the guest's own affirmative request to save the event link and receive at most one reminder — not consent to marketing. A guest can cancel the reminder from the email and can request deletion through Contact FAMUZI. Jurisdiction-specific consent, retention, and deletion terms still require legal review before launch.

11

Can an owner request deletion?

Owners can submit a deletion request from the product. A request enters lifecycle processing; the current product response does not promise immediate deletion from backups.
